ORPC Evidence Training
Please join us on December 16, 2019 at the Ralph L. Carr Judicial Center for the ORPC’s full-day training on evidence in child welfare proceedings, Evidence in D&N Court: The Rules DO Apply! This training is for parents’ attorneys who are passionate about ensuring procedural and actual fairness for their clients by making sure that County Attorneys and courts play by the rules (of evidence, that is!). If you are tired of hearing that the Rules of Evidence are “relaxed” in D&N proceedings, this training is for you.
At this evidence training, you will learn about and practice common evidentiary issues that come up in D&N cases, including:
• Relevance, Unfair Prejudice, and Other Acts Evidence under the 400s
• Experts–challenging them and offering them under the 700s
• Hearsay under the 800s
• Shaky Foundations (100s, 700s, 800s, and 1000s)
Registration is $50 for ORPC attorneys and associates. Register here. If you have any questions, contact Christy Van Gaasbeek at firstname.lastname@example.org or (720) 388-8616. I hope to see you all there!
