VOLUNTEER JURORS FOR ADC TRIAL ADVOCACY TRAINING

January 24, 2017 | News

The Colorado Alternate Defense Counsel’s Office (ADC) provides indigent criminal defense legal representation throughout the State of Colorado.  We have 600+ lawyers, investigators, and paralegals who contract with our office to advocate for our indigent community members.  The ADC holds an annual training conference each year and we need help to make this training a success. We are looking for people who can act as jurors so that lawyers can practice their jury selection skills in a learning environment.  Please help us.
WHO? Anyone who is interested and available.  We can use as many people as    possible!
WHAT? Report for duty and just talk about yourself…or the character you decide to play.  You don’t need to disclose anything that makes you uncomfortable.  It isn’t real jury duty.
WHERE? The Ralph L. Carr Judicial Center, 1300 Broadway, Denver 80203 (Report past security, outside of Room 1E in the north break area- there WILL be signs )
WHEN? February 14th, 2017 (Tuesday).  Please check in between 8:45-9:00 am.  You will be done around noon and I will provide lunch if you can stay for just a bit.  (And not just any lunch a DELICIOUS catered lunch!)
WHY? It is an interesting way to see the inner workings of the trial process and help lawyers improve their skills so they can better advocate for clients.
HOW? RSVP and let us know you can come!  Email Karen Williams at training@coloradoadc.com as soon as you can or by February 1 to let us know you will be there!  We will also send a couple of reminders.  We do that…because we know things get lost in the shuffle.
