Amanda Schmitz

Amanda serves as the Case Strategy Director at the Office of Respondent Parents’ Counsel (ORPC). Prior to joining the ORPC, Amanda was a trial and appellate RPC primarily in the Denver metro area. Amanda was born and raised in Ogden, Utah, but made her way to Colorado for law school. She graduated from University of Colorado Law School with honors in 2017, after which she clerked at the Colorado Court of Appeals for the Honorable Judge Michael H. Berger. As an RPC, Amanda has experience litigating each step of dependency and neglect cases from contested shelter hearings and jury trials, to terminations and return home motions. Amanda has also argued before the Colorado Court of Appeals and Colorado Supreme Court, most recently on an issue of first impression regarding the interpretation of the Children’s Code.
